CMT

About Us

CMT is developing and will manufacture, sell and support mCHP (micro Combined Heat and Power for single family residences) systems, based on an innovative micro Gas Turbine that is the company ‘s core technology. This technology covers a number of features, including a proprietary high temperature ceramic material, non conventional turbine geometry and a regenerative heat exchanger. These features promise to overcome the efficiency problems of very small (typically 1-2 kW) conventional turbines and compressors. This will enable the full potential of the gas turbine (cost, maintenance, size and performance) to be exploited for this application.

Market

The market for mCHP systems is massive. The systems are aimed to replace gas heating systems in cold countries where natural gas networks are popular. In Europe alone the rate of replacement of gas boilers/furnaces is 6M units per year. The figure in the rest of the world (cold areas where they heat over 150 days a year) is similar, thus the target market is  over 10 million units a year. The system is designed to return the householder’s investment – the difference between its price and the price of conventional gas system – in 3-4 years. This advantage, together with decreasing  dependence on the electricity grid makes the system an attractive purchase.
Governments also support this technology since it is a rapid route to realizing CO2 mitigation targets.

Stuff

Tzali Cnaani, CEO. Tzali brings to CMT many years of experience in senior management jobs in high tech and medical equipment.  Tzali served successfully in R&D, marketing and Sales and operation jobs in leading companies in Israel. He has B.SC. in Physics from the Technion, Haifa and studied for M.Sc. in Computer Sciences.
Mike Sassoon, CTO. Mike has wide experience and knowhow in the areas of energy systems, mechanical engineering and chemical engineering. Mike served in senior jobs in the industry in the UK and Israel and was part of the staff that established the Energy centre in the University Center of Ariel. Mike has a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and M. SC. In Mechanical Engineering.
CMT operates in close cooperation with two research groups in Saint Petersburg, Russia. These groups, Boyko – headed by Prof. Soudarev and Glass &Ceramics, headed by Prof. Konakov are the source of part of the technology used by CMT.
