CMT CMT – Ceramic Micro Turbines develops mCHP – micro Combined Heat and Power, A system that generates electricity and uses the generated heat for the needs of houses fed by natural gas – heating water and space. The system is based on a revolutionary bladeless ceramic turbine. The unique structure and the materials used for the turbine, enables it to operate with high efficiency and be relatively small. The efficiency and size gives the turbine substantial advantage compared to other solutions in this market. The target market is residences in relatively countries where natural gas is used for heating the houses, such as Northern USA, Canada, North and central Europe and Japan. Meisol, Ltd. Meisol is developing a new composite material for remediation of contaminated groundwater. The composite material is formed by bonding nano-sized zero-valent iron (NZVI) particles with metalloporphyrin catalysts onto a diatomite matrix. The composite shows catalytic activity toward different contaminants, especially to halogenated organic compounds which are common soil and groundwater pollutants. This material offers many advantages - it is environmentally-friendly, it can treat simultaneously a large spectrum of contaminants, in a single stage plant and it may be more cost effective than current technologies due to its high efficiency. Laboratory experiments showed that carbon tetrachloride, heavy metals such as hexavalent chromium, pesticides, nitrates, PCE, and TCE were degraded by this new composite material. Company Page
